For League of Legends (LoL), Riot Games introduced the changes that would be seen in LoL Patch 12.19, the patch that is to follow the Worlds 2022 patch. This update will not have any impact on the way the international tournament is played out but is directed at bringing a sense of balance to Solo Queue and pubs. A total of ten champions are either getting buffed, nerfed, or adjusted in this patch along with a few items.
Lead designer on game balance Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison wrote on Twitter, “A few changes to Off-Meta builds as well as some changes to various languishing champions. Mostly not trying to overhaul the practice environment, but addressing a few clearly weak champions and some that are outliers.”
Buffs in LoL Patch 12.19
The following are the champions that are getting buffed in LoL Patch 12.19 since Riot Games thinks some of them are struggling to find their footing in League of Legends:
-
Fizz
-
Udyr (top)
-
Ryze
-
Ekko
-
Jinx
-
Sona
-
Nasus
Fizz has been out of the meta for quite some time now and Ekko is often in-and-out of it. With Ryze also joining the list, there are a total of three mid-lane champions that are getting a buff. In the bottom lane, Jinx and Sona are being looked at.
Notably, Riot had listed Nasus buffs in the Worlds patch but pulled them back at the last second. The Udyr top-lane buffs also seem reasonable since his jungle has a healthy win rate in Solo Queue whereas the top-lane win rate is a bit lower.
Apart from these champions, Riot Games is also strengthening the off-meta builds in this patch but has not specified what they are as of yet. Item Mortal Reminder is also getting some buffs, according to the company.
LoL Patch 12.19: Nerfs
The only two champions that are getting nerfed in LoL Patch 12.19 are Master Yi and Rek’Sai. Notably, both of them are S+ rated junglers and have win rates (LoL Patch 12.18) of 52.62% and 52.51%, respectively, according to U.GG. The item receiving nerfs in this patch is Eclipse.
Additionally, players can look forward to seeing the Syndra mid-scope update in League of Legends in this patch since it was tested on the latest public beta environment (PBE) cycle. The change list is quite long and all four abilities and Syndra’s passive are undergoing significant changes.
According to Riot Games’ official patch schedule, LoL Patch 12.19 is slated to go live on 5th October.
