Nvidia to Launch GeForce Now in India

Nvidia announced on Thursday that its GeForce Now cloud gaming service will soon launch in India, unveiling plans for its first data center powered by the GeForce RTX 4080. The initiative aims to cater to the burgeoning Indian gaming market, allowing users to stream high-quality games without the need for advanced hardware.

The Ultimate membership tier will provide gamers with 100 hours of monthly playtime, featuring a maximum session length of eight hours and supporting streaming at resolutions up to 4K at 240 frames per second. A free ad-supported option will allow one hour of gameplay at 1080p.

Unlike other regions where Nvidia partners with local firms, the company will directly manage the Indian data center, following its operational model in North America and Western Europe. Nvidia's previous attempt to establish GeForce Now in India in 2017 was short-lived, but the company is now poised to expand its offerings significantly.

Razer Introduces AI-Based Esports Coaching Tool

Razer has unveiled Project AVA, an AI-powered coaching system aimed at enhancing esports performance, during CES 2025 in Las Vegas. Acting as a "gaming copilot," Project AVA provides real-time feedback and personalized coaching, employing advanced vision analysis to observe player actions and deliver tailored advice based on professional strategies.

The system also offers post-match recaps to highlight critical moments and areas for improvement, alongside features like one-click game optimization. While the project has generated excitement, there are concerns about its potential misuse in competitive esports matches. Razer emphasizes that Project AVA is strictly a training tool designed to promote fair play.

The Indrema L600 was the first open-source console. Announced in 2000 by John Gildred, it aimed to democratize game development by allowing anyone to create and self-publish games. The L600 was designed to function as a multimedia hub, supporting DVD playback, web browsing, and even digital video recording.

With a Linux-based operating system, the console featured a unique GPU slide bay for hardware upgrades and was set to launch at an attractive price of $299. However, despite generating excitement and showcasing its capabilities at events like LinuxWorld, the L600 never reached the market. Indrema faced significant funding challenges and ultimately ceased operations in April 2001. The L600 now only remains a poignant reminder of unfulfilled potential in gaming history.
