Riot Games to Host League of Legends World Finals Watch Party in Chennai
Riot Games is giving fans in Chennai a chance to experience the League of Legends World Finals on a larger-than-life scale, with a free watch party set for November 2 at PVR Phoenix Market City. Starting at 7:30 PM., fans can watch as teams BLG and T1 clash for the title, broadcast live on the big screen.
Beyond the game, Riot plans to create an interactive environment with a cosplay showcase by The Artist Collaboration (TAC) and appearances from prominent gaming influencers. Arun Rajappa, Riot Games’ Country Manager for India and South Asia, noted the event’s goal to foster community among fans, saying Riot hopes to “bring fans together to enjoy the thrill of competitive gaming.”
Admission is free, but seating is limited, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early. The event also includes live music and trivia quizzes, aiming to create an engaging experience that reflects the intensity and enthusiasm of the League fanbase. As Riot continues to ramp up community engagement in India, Chennai’s Finals watch party reflects a wider push to make League of Legends esports events accessible and resonant in the Indian market.
Brazil’s Warrior Streaming Media Enters India
Brazilian streaming platform Warrior Streaming Media is marking its India debut with a month-long campaign featuring more than 100 Indian gamers and streamers, including well-known names like GtxPreet, Spower, and Owais. The campaign, which runs from October 30 through November 30, aims to attract Indian audiences through a series of interactive livestreams, gaming sessions, and events timed to coincide with the festive season.
Warrior Streaming, known for its in-stream integrations that allow brands to connect with gamers in real-time, hopes to make a strong entry into India’s competitive streaming market. “India represents a significant opportunity for us,” said Manoj George, Warrior’s local partner. “With an estimated reach of over 25 million, we’re committed to building an engaged community that resonates with Indian gamers and brands alike.”

Red Bull’s annual M.E.O. esports tournament returns to India, featuring Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and World Cricket Championship, with open qualifiers currently underway. This year, Red Bull is set to hold the National Finals as a live event in Chennai on December 1. The tournament’s structure allows open registration through Nov. 6, followed by a series of online qualifiers, quarterfinals, and semifinals, narrowing down to 16 finalists. Tencent Denies Layoff Rumors Amid Executive Changes
Tencent has denied speculation of widespread layoffs, following an internal email noting executive shifts within its gaming and content divisions. The October 25 email confirmed that Vice President Zeng Yu would no longer oversee Tencent IEG’s technical line or the Platform and Content Group.
Responding to reports of potential workforce cuts at TiMi Studio Group, which employs roughly 6,000 people, a Tencent spokesperson said there are no planned redundancies and that the company is actively recruiting. Tencent also dismissed rumors of a 30% staff reduction at LightSpeed Studios, attributing recent changes to routine adjustments in top management.
