Scopely has surpassed $10 billion in lifetime revenue and crossed a billion downloads across its mobile games portfolio, the Los Angeles-based gaming powerhouse announced. Players have logged over 15 billion hours in titles like Monopoly Go!, Stumble Guys, and Marvel Strike Force.
Founded in 2011, Scopely began with Dice With Buddies, later expanding into iconic IP partnerships such as Yahtzee With Buddies. Its enduring Dice franchise has now generated over $1 billion. The company’s ascent was solidified with Monopoly Go!’s wild success and its $4.9 billion acquisition by Saudi Arabia’s Savvy Games Group.
Now the top U.S. mobile games firm and a global leader, Scopely embraces a cross-platform strategy, debuting Stumble Guys on consoles in 2024. Co-CEOs Walter Driver and Javier Ferreira credit a “long-term mindset” for the company’s rise, promising more innovations ahead in its journey from startup to entertainment juggernaut.
Huawei AppGallery Partners with Emirates Esports Federation in UAE Gaming Push
Huawei's Android app store AppGallery has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Emirates Esports Federation (EESF), a government-backed body in the United Arab Emirates, to bolster the region's esports and mobile gaming ecosystem.
The agreement outlines collaboration on tournaments and campaigns aimed at supporting local gaming talent and providing new opportunities for developers. EESF will endorse AppGallery Gamers Cup tournaments and promote mobile games featured on the platform, according to a joint statement.
The MoU was signed by EESF President Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Sultan Bin Shakhboot Al Nahyan and William Hu, Managing Director of Huawei Consumer Business Group, Middle East and Africa.
The deal reflects the UAE's growing focus on esports as a rapidly expanding industry. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Huawei and EESF have not commented on the potential scale or timeline of the partnership's initiatives.
