Did You Know
The 2007 PlayStation 3 game The Darkness holds a surprising Easter egg: an entire, viewable version of the 1962 film To Kill a Mockingbird. During a quiet cutscene, protagonist Jackie Estacado and his girlfriend, Jenny, share a tender moment on the couch, where the movie plays in the background.
Remarkably, the game developers included the full feature-length film as part of this scene, allowing players to sit with the characters and watch Gregory Peck’s iconic portrayal of Atticus Finch. This unexpected inclusion added emotional depth to the relationship between Jackie and Jenny, emphasizing moments of calm amid the game’s otherwise dark and violent narrative.
