Collapse Shares His NA Pub Experience and Discusses Losing Streaks

In terms of experience and quality of games, North American (NA) Dota 2 pubs offer some of the most challenging times. As The International 12 (TI12) is taking place in Seattle, USA, the best teams in the world are playing their ranked games in the NA region. In a recent vlog, Team Spirit's offlaner Magomed "Collapse" Khalilov shared his experience playing in the region. According to the offlaner, North America can drive a player to the brink of madness, citing the case of Gaimin Gladiators’ Quinn "Quinn" Callahan, who he said went “crazy” before his move to Europe. Furthermore, with the losing streak he has experienced in the region, Collapse had some advice for other players who face similar challenges when playing Dota 2 ranked matches.

Collapse says playing Dota 2 in NA can make a player go crazy

In a recent vlog shared by Team Spirit on YouTube, Collapse spoke candidly about his day playing Dota 2 in NA.

“Awful (on how his day went). You can’t play pubs in America all day, you’d go crazy. Living proof is the player Quinn. Until he moved to Europe, he was a crazy man, everyone thought so. He’s smart but he’s crazy.”

To cope with the stress and losses that pubs brought, Collapse said he would reduce their numbers and focus more on scrims and officials during his three weeks in NA due to TI12.

“I think I am going to play minimum pubs and the rest is to play scrims and officials. Maybe I will play more if things go well but so far I have got no f**king good. I just lost all the matches. Let’s count it. I arrived on the 6th and 15 games I have played and only four wins. I am a little upset.”

When one gets trapped in a state of queueing and losing in such tough situations, Collapse suggested what the right way out is.

“I go to play ping-pong, I cry, watch tik-toks, talk to my friends. You will understand when you have a losestreak. You play four, five games and you lose and that’s when you stop yourself. It’s only going to get worse from here. If you keep playing on and on, nothing good can come out of this because you’ll already be playing for f**k’s sake and you will not be playing to the max. Going to take a break from Dota, don’t play for one day. But you will save your nerves and the next day, everything will be better.”

Collapse may have a difficult time with ranked games in NA, but he will have to endure them as it will be important for him not to lose momentum and stay on top of his game. His squad Team Spirit is one of the favorites to win TI12 and they have already started the tournament on a high.
