Godlike Esports is one of the well known esports organizations in India. After suffering elimination from the recently concluded Battlegrounds Mobile India Masters Series (BGMS) Season 2 2023 and the ongoing Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023, the team's owner Chetan “Kronten” Chandgude had revealed that the team would be making changes moving forward.
In a recent live stream, Kronten revealed the changes Godlike Esports is making to its BGMi lineup. One of the major changes in the roster was that Rudra “Spower” is set to leave Godlike Esports. Spower’s departure from the team was unexpected as he was one the best players in recent times who had dominated several tournaments.
Kronten reveals changes in Godlike Esports’ BGMI lineup
Recently, Kronten, in his live stream, talked about some major changes in Godlike Esports’ BGMI lineup. He revealed that Spower is set to leave the team along with Abhijeet “Ghatak” Andhare, who served as a coach and the team’s mentor. They will not be connected with the team anymore.
Talking about players in Godlike Esports he said, “The first thing I want to say is that Godlike Esports’ BGMI lineup is not disbanded. All the players in the team are together and the dream we all had as players of winning the trophy will be achieved in the time to come. The first player in Godlike Esports is Jonathan and he is here to stay. I know Neyoo did a live stream where he said he wouldn’t be a part of the team and it was true but we had a discussion later and he will be part of the team. Everyone at Godlike Esports is like a family to me, be it the players or the people from the management.”
He also revealed why Spower is leaving Godlike Esports, “When we brought Spower in Godlike Esports, he was supposed to be a part of the team for a particular amount of time period. He was here only to play a couple of tournaments. If the team had developed good synergy with him, he was supposed to continue forward. Jonathan and Spower both are fraggers and we felt that a role is missing in the team like an IGL (in-game leader). When I talked to Clutchgod (ex IGL of Godlike Esports) and Shadow (ex IGL of Godlike Esports), both of them said the same thing that if a team has two fraggers, it will be difficult to play as a role will be missing from the team.”
The team, moving forward, will play with Jonathan “Jonathan” Amaral, Suraj “Neyoo” Majumdar, Abhishek “Zgod” Choudhary and Vivek “Clutchgod” Horo. Clutchgod will be returning to the team after his small stint with Numen Gaming.
Fans are hoping that the changes prove to bode well for the team moving forward as Godlike Esports has shown potential in the past and has also dominated several tournaments.
