Arteezy Shares Valuable Advice for Aspiring Professional Dota 2 Players

Artour "Arteezy" Babaev, the carry player for Shopify Rebellion and a prominent figure in the Dota 2 community, continues to dominate the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) North America (NA) 2023 Tour 3: Division I. With his team currently dominating the competition without dropping a single game, Arteezy has been capturing attention with his high-level gameplay. Recently, during one of his regular livestreams, Arteezy took the opportunity to offer some invaluable advice to aspiring players who dream of going professional in Dota 2. Sharing his insights on itemization and the importance of copying successful players, Arteezy provided a glimpse into his thought process and offered guidance for those looking to make their mark in the competitive scene.

Itemization: A Key Focus for Aspiring Players

In his insightful discussion, Arteezy emphasized the significance of itemization in Dota 2 and how it impacts the overall performance of a player and their team. He stated that itemization often becomes a major problem for many players, as gold leads in the game are predominantly based on the items bought. Arteezy emphasized that even with a significant gold advantage, the ultimate difference lies in the items purchased. He highlighted the importance of making smart item choices and avoiding poor decisions that can effectively nullify the gold lead. By understanding and mastering effective itemization, aspiring professional players can take a step towards becoming better at the game.

“Is itemization the biggest problem for a lot of players? Yea, it is. Because the truth is, in Dota 2, Gold leads exist based on items. If you're 10k gold up but you have 0 experience difference, then what the ultimate difference is the items that you buy with the gold that you have. So if you buy bad f*cking items, why does it matter if you have a gold lead,” Arteezy said.

Arteezy’s advice: copy itemization from pro players

Arteezy's advice to aspiring players looking to enter the professional Dota 2 scene was refreshingly straightforward: copy the strategies and item builds of successful players. He encouraged players to observe and replicate the choices of top-tier players, even if they do not fully understand the reasoning behind them. Arteezy emphasized that this simple approach is often effective, as successful players have honed their gameplay through experience and extensive practice.

“My biggest advice to anybody who is actually trying to play Dota 2 professionally is that they just literally go copy whatever the f*ck people do, because it's simple, its probably not wrong. Even if they dont understand. Just literally go copy whoever you think is good and copy their items, dont need to really think. Just copy their items and most likely, you'll have impact,” he added.

Arteezy's valuable insights offer a glimpse into the mindset and approach of a highly accomplished player. His emphasis on itemization and the power of imitation provides aspiring Dota 2 professionals with practical advice that can elevate their game and set them on the path to success. By focusing on these key aspects and incorporating them into their own gameplay, players can strive to reach new heights and make their mark in the competitive world of Dota 2.
