Mirko Holds High Expectations for Outplay; Ranks It Beside Blacklist and ONIC ID

Frederick Handy "Mirko" Loho, an Indonesian shoutcaster, holds high expectations for Outplay, the North American (NA) team participating in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2023. Mirko believes that Outplay stands as a formidable contender due to its lineup, consisting mostly of iconic players with extensive experience in top-level competitions. However, the caster expressed a slight concern regarding the team’s current jungler, who is yet to gain experience in international tournaments or official competitive leagues. Nevertheless, the NA region has consistently defied expectations, showcasing its talented pro players' prowess despite the absence of a significant MLBB esports scene in the region.

Mirko Thinks Outplay is one of the top contenders for MSC 2023

Through a Power Ranking livestream, Mirko shared his thoughts about the NA representative team, Outplay. While the caster is a big fan of the legendary BloodThirstyKings (BTK) team, he still thinks Outplay should be hailed as one of the top contenders in the upcoming MSC 2023.

According to Mirko, the outcome of the North America Challenger Tournaments (NACT) 2023 Spring may have been different if Outplay had its main EXP Laner Rainiel "URESHIII" Logronio with them.

“You can agree or disagree… I’m a BTK supporter so I’ll be honest with you, I think it would have gone really different in the grand finals of NACT if URESHIII played,” explained Mirko.

“I think a lot of people, a lot of you guys don’t want OP [Outplay] to succeed because you just hate them, because you don’t like Basic, you don't like the players in it, but you can’t deny that they are good right now,” he added.

Outplay’s Gold Laner Peter "Basic" Lozano is one of the most controversial players in the MLBB esports scene. The pro player has a history of controversies, including allegedly having an affair with the girlfriend of Blacklist International’s EXP Laner Renejay "RENEJAY" Barcase. He also previously shared a series of screenshots of ECHO’s roamer Tristan "YAWI" Cabrea allegedly flirting with another girl while still in a romantic relationship.

According to Mirko, Basic has improved a lot in his playstyle since the M4 World Championship run under The Valley.

“You can hate him all you want, I’m not talking about the drama, I’m not talking about anything, he creates a lot of drama, he creates a lot of problems, whatever,” the Indonesian caster said. “As a player, I think he’s improved.”

While Mirko believes that Outplay has the potential to contest for the MSC 2023 title, he has concerns with its current jungler Bestplayer1 who has little to no experience competing in the big leagues.

“The only player I’m concerned about right now from this team is Bestplayer1, if he can perform internationally or not,” he said. “Without a jungler who can actually be on the same level as the other, it’s really gonna hurt them.”

He concludes that if Bestplayer1 can perform and go toe-to-toe with the best junglers in the tournament, then Outplay deserves to sit beside the likes of Blacklist International and ONIC Esports in his Power Rankings for MSC 2023.
