Thug Shares Whether Players Should Stick With BGMI or Switch Games

One of the Indian esports industry experts, Animesh "Thug" Agarwal, gave his two cents on the ongoing discussion about whether professional mobile battle royale athletes should remain committed to Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) or switch to other esports titles, at least until the game returns.

During a recent Instagram livestream session, Thug said that in his opinion players and creators should not look at this as moving on. It should rather be considered as an opportunity because once the game returns so can the players.

Thug gives his opinion on whether players and creators should stick with BGMI or move on to other titles

Ever since esports talents, Zishan "Mazy" Alam and Piyush "Spero" Bathla, spoke openly about the current scenario of the players and viewers with regards to BGMI and how they were not ready to let go of the game despite its continued absence, various personalities have presented their opinions on the topic.

Thug was asked to speak on the topic by one his viewers during a recent Instagram live session and he went on to say that "What do you mean by move on? It's not like if someone moves on they can't return. So for now do stuff that helps you build. If you are serious about building a career in gaming then do stuff that makes sense right now."

Note: The related segment starts from 02:00 onwards.

In addition to this, he was asked if it was still a viable option to think about building a career in esports. Thug simply said that if he had thought like this back in 2019 then even he would not have been able to achieve what he has today.

"The point is, like I said if you are keeping your passion parallel to your profession, you can definitely do it," said Thug, "Things have to be followed a little seriously, so some sacrifices would need to be made in order to take time out for your passion and pursue it really well."

A few players have moved on to compete in New State Mobile ever since BGMI was banned by the Government of India. However, most of them still continue practicing and grinding the game in the hope that it might return soon.
