CS2 Asia Championships 2023: Teams, Results, Schedule, Format, Prize Pool, More

The Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) action is coming to Shanghai, China with the CS2 Asia Championships 2023 taking place on LAN at the Yuanshen Stadium from 8^th to 12^th November.

It will feature a total prize pool of $500,000 USD (INR 4,16,32,425) which will be split between all the eight competing teams as per their overall standings.

Out of all the participating teams, five international competitors have been directly invited to this tournament while three regional teams have secured a spot for themselves through the Perfect World Arena Premier League Season 5: Professional Division.

CS2 Asia Championships 2023: Complete Details

Perfect World is all set to organize the first official CS2 tournament for Asia, CS2 Asia Championships 2023, which will be returning for its third edition after a hiatus of four years.

MOUZ is the defending champion and will be looking to hold this position against some new competitors in an upgraded version of the game.

Teams

A total of eight teams will be competing in this tournament, five international invited teams and three regional qualifying teams making their way through another qualifying tournament.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from 8^th to 12^th November and has been divided into two phases - Group Stage and Playoffs.

Format

Group Stage

• The eight participating teams will be divided into two groups of four teams each.

• Both groups will follow a double-elimination format where the opening matches are best-of-one and all other matches are best-of-three.

• Top three teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs.

  • Winners will directly advance to the semifinals.

  • Second-placed teams will advance to the quarterfinals as the high seeds.

  • Third-placed teams will advance to the quarterfinals as the low seeds.

Playoffs

• The six qualifying teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket where all matches follow a best-of-three series.

• The team standing undefeated at the end will be crowned as the champion of the CS2 Asia Championships 2023.

Similar to the previous edition, the tournament will be featuring a total prize pool of $500,000 USD which will be divided between all the eight participants.

MOUZ is housing a very different roster from the one that claimed the trophy during the CS:GO Asia Championships 2019. Not only them but almost all organizations have changed their active lineup since then and this will make things a lot more interesting.

Even the game is not the same anymore as the last one was a CS:GO event while this one will be a CS2 tournament, making things all the more challenging for all those involved.
