Riot Games Shocks Players With League of Legends Season 2024 Teaser

In a surprising twist, Riot Games released the gameplay teaser for League of Legends Season 2024 before the season end. On 19th November, Riot took to social media channels to post the new trailer, which has already gotten the players super excited.

Captioned, "Looks dangerous. You in?," the teaser showcased a different look to Summoner's Rift. The League of Legends map will have new terrain changes that are sure to impact all the roles and will change the traditional pathing and ganking of players.

Here's all that we could decipher from the new Season 2024 teaser.

What's Changing in League of Legends in Season 2024?

In the one minute-long video, a common theme was spotted. It feels like a "zombie apocalypse" has hit Summoner's Rift as many of the jungle neutrals and monsters have a "void" aura about them. The Baron, Rift Herald, Blue and Red buff sentinels have a purple, void look to them in the upcoming Season 2024.

Some of the major changes that can be seen are as follows:

Map rework: There are now different ways to enter the dragon and Baron Nashor pit. The side-lanes of top and bot also have different entry points. There are walls near mid-lane turret and also in the top lane (where the tri-bush is located).

Pre-Herald objective: At the start of the video, we are shown a monster camp with three small critters with one-eyes. This is in the Baron pit and could be a pre-Herald objective as such. At the time of writing, we are not sure how this camp will play out.

Rift Herald: The video also shows Renekton and a few creatures popping out of Shelly when she rams the mid-lane turret. It could be possible that this is a new gameplay change to Herald.

Ever since the Season 2024 teaser dropped, the community has been all-praise for Riot Games. One player said, "Dang the Baron looks like it's straight out of the void wars in lore."

Another one commented, "Holy s**t they actually just said f*** it and changed the whole map how based is that."

Some players entertained the possibility of all these terrain changes and jungle camp changes being associated to a new dragon, like the Chemtech one. A Redditor said, "The Void influence and terrain changes could definitely be a new drake type and map. It would definitely be a safer bet than doing base map changes because those terrain changes are bigger than mountain and fire rifts."

However, a few players immediately pointed out how it would be too many changes just for a dragon's soul.

Meanwhile, League of Legends Lead Gameplay Designer Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison said Season 2024 has been blood, sweat, and tears from the developers to get this to happen. He said, "Super excited for y'all to finally see what we've been working on for the past 11 months. League isn't going anywhere and this represents the largest Preseason we've ever done."

Phroxzon said that it was agonizing to keep their lips sealed for the full year while getting memed and trolled for doing nothing. "It's a massive relief for yall to finally see a sneak peek of what's coming up. Hope you're all as excited as we are!!"

It looks like Riot Games has decided to not let what happened during last season's release repeat again. While the teaser looks extremely promising, players are gearing up to see all these exciting and new map, terrain, and jungle changes on the Public Beta Environment (PBE) very soon.
