Azure Ray's support player Xu "fy" Linsen will take a break from competitive Dota 2 and focus on livestreaming. The 28-year-old stated that the management of Azure asked him to keep playing but he decided to just move ahead with livestreaming instead. Despite the possibility of playing and streaming simultaneously, fy mentioned that he has tried this in the past, but it has not worked out for him in addition to making him feel exhausted. This decision from fy comes after Azure Ray's midlaner Lu "Somnus" Yao and offlaner Yang "chalice" Shenyi also spoke about taking some time off competitive Dota 2.
Fy opts for livestreaming as a post-TI12 career path instead of competitive Dota 2
According to CN Dota In A Nutshell (@Tr1H4rd3rDota2) on Twitter, fy has left Azure Ray's bootcamp and made his status inactive. Additionally, fy clarified that Somnus' recent statement that he wants to move forward with competitive Dota 2 was something he made up on his own.

In response to the team management's offer to play and stream simultaneously, fy said he considered it after The International 12 (TI12) but decided to move to livestreaming. Based on his past experience at Vici Gaming, he is left in the middle if he does both, and the amount he earns from both avenues is largely the same. “I just want to be a streamer more than pro player now,” he said.
As fy, Somnus, and Chalice will be moving away from the pro scene in the near future and no players are registered with Azure Ray's roster on the Dota 2 Majors Registration Page, the team is likely headed towards a full revamp.
Fy and Azure Ray formed as a team late in the 2023 competitive season when they acquired YBB Gaming's slot in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC). As a fresh squad of five Dota 2 players, although all well-known in the Chinese competitive scene, it performed well at the Bali Major, finishing 7th-8th, and then progressed from there to win the Chinese qualifier for TI12.
Azure Ray's performance at TI12 improved dramatically, with the team finishing in the top four in only their third event together.
For fy, this will be another case of "so close yet so far," considering he has come close to winning the event multiple times in his celebrated Dota 2 career. He finished second at TI4, fourth at TI5, second at TI8, third at TI9, and now fourth at TI12.
Fy will now spend his time livestreaming to Chinese fans, while fans all across the world await his comeback to competitive Dota 2.
