No[o]ne- Contemplates Ending His Career as a Dota 2 Pro

Entity’s midlaner Volodymyr "No[o]ne-" Minenko recently graced Russian Dota 2 streamer Aleksandr "Nix" Levin’s Twitch stream as a guest and reportedly said he might quit Dota in the case of repeated failures at tournaments. However, he immediately clarified that he loves the game and he would play as long as that love is alive.

Notably, No[o]ne-’s team Entity hasn’t found much success in professional tournaments recently. The team failed to qualify for BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai, DreamLeague Season 22, and ESL One Birmingham 2024.

I have big ambitions, a desire to win,” says No[o]ne-

Ukrainian mid-laner No[o]ne recently said he has thought about quitting Dota during one of Nix’s recent Twitch streams. When Nix asked if he had ever thought of ending his Dota 2 career. According to the transcription and translation from hawk.live, No[o]ne reportedly replied, “Of course. When you s**k for a long time, yeah. My stance is: if I s**k, I won't play. I have big ambitions, and a desire to win. I try very hard. If I keep losing, it's better to go in some other direction. That's if I play badly.

He further added, “I just say that. In reality, I love Dota. I definitely won't leave as long as I love the game, and then we'll see.

No[o]ne rose to fame during his time with Virtus.pro between 2016 and 2020. He made a name for himself as a force to be reckoned with. No[o]ne-’s achievements with Virtus.pro include- first-place finishes at ESL One Hamburg 2017, ESL One Katowice 2018, the Bucharest Major 2018, ESL One Birmingham 2018, and the Kuala Lumpur Major 2018. He also secured the 5th-6th standing at The International 2017 and The International 2018.

However, it seems as if No[o]ne is past his prime days after parting ways with Virtus.pro. He joined Na’Vi in 2021 and tried to qualify for The International 2021 through the Eastern Europe qualifier. However, Na’Vi was knocked out by BetBoom Team. While Na’Vi still got a second chance to qualify for The International 2021 through the last-chance qualifier, it was still not enough as it lost to Xtreme Gaming.

In an attempt to start afresh in his Dota 2 career, No[o]ne switched regions and joined Team SMG in Southeast Asia. Team SMG managed to qualify for The International 2023 but finished the tournament with a heartbreaking 17th-20th standing. Following this, the pro player joined Entity, and his quest for glory continues as he has yet to find success with his newest team.
