Riot Games Quickly Releases LoL Patch 13.1b After Reverting It Due to a 'Bug'

League of Legends descended into a state of pandemonium after Riot Games deleted its micropatch LoL Patch 13.1b, reverting all the changes that were introduced to the game. After this major hiccup, the publisher quickly issued a statement and disabled ranked queues. It was quick to roll out a fix to reinstate the patch and also resumed the ranked and draft queues in a couple of hours.

Riot Games stated that a critical bug was found which rolled back the LoL Patch 13.1b update. As a result, all the changes in the 13.1b patch vanished from the game without a trace, including all the buffs, nerfs, and system adjustments. While the company was working on a fix, only the Blind Pick mode was available for play.

Riot Games wrote. “Heads up, due to a bug LoL patch 13.1B has been temporarily rolled back. We are currently working on a solution and expect this to be resolved within the next few hours. Ranked queues have been disabled in the meantime. Thank you for your patience.

Within a few hours, it stated that the patch had returned to live servers and that ranked queues would be enabled shortly.

League of Legends community reacts to LoL Patch 13.1b getting rolled back

League of Legends bug-spotter and YouTuber Vandiril brought to the attention of the community how Riot Games “accidentally deleted” the whole of LoL Patch 13.1b.

In a recent video, Vandiril went over how all the LoL Patch 13.1b changes were now gone from the game. He pointed out the differences in items and their stats. Players who were playing ranked games during this time did not gain or lose LP (League Points) as Riot Games said the game would be “loss prevented.” Soon after, ranked queues were disabled.

Following this, Twitter user Spideraxe claimed, “The how it happened [patch getting deleted] is basically because 13.1b was a hotfix and submitting a new build overrode the changes.

League of Legends players took this opportunity to call Riot Games “an indie company” and jested that the game was still in beta testing. One Twitter user wrote, “At this point just revert to the patch before Yuumi was introduced.

Additionally, players have been joking about Riot Games reverting back to some of the older versions of the game with features, items, and modes including glyphs and runes, Twisted Treeline game mode, and Athenes Unholy Grail.
