The continued absence of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) since July 2022 has not fazed local organizers from hosting tournaments for the mobile battle royale.
GSG Esports has made a lot of noise following the announcement of India BGMI Majors, which features some of the best teams from across the country competing for a total prize pool of INR 5,00,000 ($6,060 USD) split between three weeks.
The first week of this tournament has concluded with Team SouL walking away as the champions, playing to their strengths to score a total of 266 points in 24 matches.

Out of all qualifying teams, Team SouL walked away as the first week's winner, switching gears in the last two days to take the top spot on the overall points table.
The team won three matches and scored a total of 266 points, consisting of 104 placement points and 162 finishes, which helped it secure the first-place finish with a difference of just 15 points separating it from the runner-up, Reckoning Esports.
SouL showcased really good teamwork, Harsh "Goblin" Paudwal securing the most finishes for the side, 44 frags across 24 matches, which constituted for about 27% of all finishes taken by his team.
However, it was far from the dominant performance showcased by Shubham "NinjaJOD" Ranjan Sahoo, who was named as the MVP of the first week for taking a mammoth 65 finishes in 24 matches.
This made up for about 59% of all frags taken by TSM in 24 matches, as Ninja tore through teams at an astounding rate of 2.7 finishes per map.
The first week of the tournament offered a part of the total prize pool on the basis of the overall points table:
