The highly anticipated animated mini-series announced by Blizzard Entertainment for Overwatch 2 dropped its third and final episode yesterday on 21st July, Genesis - Part Three: Rebirth.

Continuing from where the story concluded in Part Two: Innocence, it shows the counteroffensive becoming ineffective and the Anubis program growing in power.

How Aurora, who had attained sentience and was unaffected by Anubis, helped free other Omnics from the grasp of the 'god program' through an event called 'The Awakening'.

The final set of Overwatch offensives through which they managed to infiltrate Anubis in Cairo and quarantine it, bringing an end to the war and giving us a glimpse of humans and Omnics living together in harmony.

Overwatch's counteroffensive which once felt promising was now on the brink of collapse. While the war raged on, humans adjusted and tried to function as a society amidst the chaos and peril.

Anubis got stronger, learning from its defeats, and forced the humans to constantly come up with new strategies to take it down.

Aurora was sacrificed in the process but it helped free all other Omnics, a moment that was known as 'The Awakening'. The Omnics were presented with a choice, some gave up their weapons while others kept on fighting.

This moment was seized by Overwatch and a counteroffensive was launched. It took some time but eventually, they managed to infiltrate Anubis in Cairo, quarantining it. After this, it only took a few more months to win the war completely.

"They are like us, reflections of us. Some are no good, some I would trust with my life. I suppose we all had an Awakening," said Lt. Gen. Ricardo Perez.

With this, the Omnic Crisis came to an end and we get to see a glimpse of a new society where humans and Omincs live together in harmony, the latter having been blessed with sentience.

How to watch Overwatch 2 Genesis Part Three Rebirth?

This is the third and final episode of the mini-series and brings the story of the Omnic Crisis to an end.

It was livestreamed on the official YouTube channel of Overwatch 2 in English. First, every single part of the mini-series was premiered live and then they were uploaded online as a normal video for everyone to watch and continue enjoying.

Overall this animated mini-series was a treat for all the Overwatch 2 fans and players, who were desperately waiting for something like this to expand upon the rich lore of the game.

It had been long requested by community members and Blizzard seems to have knocked it out of the park with this one. Everything has now been setup perfectly for the upcoming Overwatch 2: Invasion which is all set to launch on 10th August.
