Gamers8 Tekken 7 Nations Cup Recap
Pakistan had a clean run at the event and secured a 3-0 scoreline in Group C, and qualified for the playoffs. It was by far the most dominant team at the event and its playoffs performance was no different from the group stage. The team managed to stay in the upper bracket throughout the event and secured wins against the United Kingdom in the Semi-finals and South Korea at the Winners' Finals as well as the Grand Finals.
The Pakistan team consists of Arslan Ash, Atif Butt and Imran Khan. While it was smooth sailing for Pakistan during the Winners’ finals as Arslan Ash dominated the competition, things did not look as smooth at the Grand Finals.
Ash, who is considered to be one of the best Tekken players in the world, lost all three of his matches against Bae "Knee" Jae-Min at the grand finals. But his teammates did not falter and helped Pakistan secure the victory and $500,000 in prize money out of the $1 Million USD prize pool.
In addition to the main event, there was also a 1v1 event that featured the teams from the Losers’ bracket. Team Germany managed to secure a win at the $50,000 USD competition after a clean 3-0 victory against Saudi Arabia.
