The International 12 (TI12) Western Europe (WEU) qualifier’s opening day featured some big battles in the upper bracket among which Entity defeated Nigma Galaxy by a scoreline of 2-21. As a result of very similar wins from both teams, the series was tied at 1-1, before Entity's offlaner Kim “Gabbi” Santos won the third game for his team with his flawless performance on Doom. He set targets for every fight and achieved them without fail, leading his team to a crucial victory and into the next round of the upper bracket. On the other hand, Nigma falls into the lower bracket, with elimination looming in every series going forward.
Nigma Galaxy vs Entity: Match recap and highlights
Recap
Game 1 featured a passive laning phase as both teams aimed to getting the first items. The first time the two teams clashed, Nigma dealt massive damage that quickly dispatched the opposing heroes. This laid the groundwork for Nigma's snowball effect, as Yuma, farming like a madman on Gyrocopter, became unstoppable. When Entity opted to engage, it was unable to confront the opponents and tapped out after 34 minutes. Yuma finished the game with a KDA of 19-1-8.
Game 2 was similar to the previous in that the Razor carry struggled to make an impact while the opponent carry was farming and killing heroes. Nigma was using the carry Razor this time. The squad also had mid Marci, an unusual hero combination in the patch that did not work out. Nigma, with its tendency for persistent skirmishing, failed to obtain the kills it sought and was defeated in 36 minutes.
Game 3 got off to a much more level start, with heroes on both sides treading carefully because it was the decider. Stormstormer, in particular, excelled in the midlane with great last hitting and was able to lead Entity's first few objectives. However, the game's farming phase was won by Gabbi, who outgrew his previous game performance and aggressively attacked Yuma's Terrorblade in every fight. His initiation was excellent, and he was constantly able to start battles for Entity, which proved to be crucial in the team's success. Yuma purchased Divine Rapier as a last ditch effort to make a comeback, but Gabbi had his eyes set on him and led Entity to a 59 minute triumph. Gabbi's offlane partner Kataomi` also played a significant role, going 8-0-20 on support Shadow Demon.
