The Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) 2023 season came to a close on 26th August with Evil Geniuses lifting the Valorant Champions trophy. This marked the end of the first year of the partnered league system for Valorant that Riot Games introduced. With the Valorant esports ecosystem already in its off-season and with the 2024 VCT season looming large each passing day, the teams in the VCT international leagues are making bold changes to their current lineups.
In the Pacific League, the rostermania kicked off on 11th September with the VCT Pacific transfer window opening. One of the most followed esports organizations from India, Global Esports, is no exception when it comes to making roster changes. Global Esports has been steadily announcing its lineup and has already confirmed two of its players for 2024.
On 17th September, Global Esports announced its decision to retain Abhirup “Lightningfast” Choudhury for the upcoming season.
Lightningfast Will Continue His Valorant Esports Journey with Global Esports in 2024
On 17th September, Global Esports yet again created buzz on social media, especially Twitter, as it announced that it will reveal its next player for the 2024 season with 5,000 retweets. Within a few hours, it reached the target and the Indian Valorant community was eager to see the next confirmed player for Global Esports' VCT 2024 campaign.

Keeping up its word, the organization wrote on Twitter, "The boy from a small town in India, is set to go big. Everyone, send your love to the one and only, @Lightningfast07."
Following the announcement, Lightningfast said, "Alright then, time to get to work and reach new heights, thank you for putting your faith in me 1 more time people, See ya all at 2024 VCT."
Notably, Lightningfast has been a part of Global Esports Valorant since its inception in 2020. He played in the VCT 2023 Pacific League in Seoul, South Korea during Weeks 4 and 5.
It will be exciting to see what role the young Indian player takes on this season and whether or not he will have a permanent spot on the playing five.
On 16th September, Global Esports announced the signing of star player Benedict “Benkai” Tan from Paper Rex, who will most likely be taking on the role of the in-game leader (IGL). As part of its "hard reset", Global Esports let go of international players Kim "t3xture" Na-ra, Jordan "AYRIN" He, Cahya "Monyet" Nugraha and Park "Bazzi" Jun-ki in the last week.
