It was initially scheduled in Hangzhou, China between 10th September and 25th September 2022 but due the resurgence of COVID-19 cases in China, the Asian Games 2022 was postponed a full year to 2023. The Asian Games 2022 will feature eight medal events and two demonstration events. Notably, Riot Games’ flagship esports title League of Legends (LoL) is one of the eight medal events.

The 19th Asian Games is a major multi-sport event scheduled to be held in Hangzhou, China, between 23rd September and 8th October. LoL will be a medal event at the Hangzhou Asian Games 2022 and according to the 19th Asian Games Sport Technical Handbook for Esports states that all LoL matches will be played on LoL Patch 13.12.

  • A total of 11 teams participate

  • Teams are drawn into four groups

  • Single round robin setup

  • Matches are best-of-one (BO1)

  • Top team from each group advances to the Knockout Stage

• Knockout Stage

  • A total of eight teams participate

    • Four teams prequalified from Road to Asian Games and they will meet the four qualifiers from the Group Stage

  • Single elimination bracket

  • Matches are best-of-three (BO3)

(Since many teams withdrew, the number of teams in each group is not even.)
