Last month, Team SouL’s Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) coach Amit “Amit” Dubey hosted a watch-party livestream of the ongoing scrims where he revealed more information about Akash "Maxkash" Anandani receiving an offer from Team SouL. The organization was looking for a replacement for Sohail “Hector” Shaikh and Maxkash was one of the players that SouL approached.
Why was SouL looking for Hector’s replacement
Amit revealed in the livestream that Hector had a phase where he was unable to win 1v1s consistently and wanted to move the player to the fifth slot. At the time, multiple free agents were approached by SouL and Maxkash happened to be one of them.
He added, “I don’t know if you can call it an offer. Hector’s poor performance and his inability to win 1v1s at the time forced us to look for free players and we approached him.” Maxkash considered the offer and played an entire day with three Team SouL players but he refused to the join the team.
The reason behind Maxkash declining the offer was that he preferred to play with Mohammed "Owais" Lakhani. Maxkash feels that Amit tried to play down the offer and that the coach does not want to acknowledge it.
Maxkash said on his livestream, “I remember that Amit called me to play and I did play an entire day with the players. But I did not join the team because I have to stick with Owais. Whether they (Team SouL) want to acknowledge it or not, it doesn’t matter to me. I know what really happened and I have zero qualms with the SouL players”
Amit feels that Hector is a bad fit for Team SouL and if their current in-game leader Sahil “Omega” Jakhar leaves the roster, the organization will have to find someone of the same caliber.
Maxkash is currently competing with Owais, Shivam “420op” Raghav, Daljit “Daljitsk” Singh, and Paritosh under the Team Enigma Forever banner (not to be confused with Enigma Gaming).
