Blacklist International is a Southeast Asian (SEA) team that last competed in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) SEA 2023 Tour 2: Division I, finishing 5th. While the team managed to keep its Division I slot, it was unable to qualify for the Berlin Major, being outperformed by teams such as Talon Esports, Execration, and Team SMG. The team recently parted ways with its position 5 player Nico "eyyou" Barcelon, leaving a spot open in its roster. Co-owner Tryke Gutierrez announced the addition of TI7 finalist and MDL Chengdu Major 2019 winner Damien "kpii" Chok to its roster, bringing valuable experience and expertise to the team.
Kuku moved to position 5 while Kpii plays position 3
In a tweet, the co-owner of Blacklist International stated that the next DPC season is about learning from the past and moving Kuku to position 5 while adding kpii in the offlane position. The addition of the Australian player to the roster gives Blacklist International a seasoned veteran with experience in high-pressure situations.
The team has been playing in Division I in both DPC SEA tours and has managed to place 4th and 5th. Despite being close to placing in The top 3 of the DPC, it was unable to secure a slot at DPC majors, kpii’s addition to the team may give them the much-needed support to make it to the next Major.
Blacklist International's acquisition of Kpii brings experience and talent to the team, which could potentially take them to the next level. Kpii's experience in high-pressure situations, including a top 2 finish at TI7 and a victory at MDL Chengdu Major 2019, will be an invaluable asset to the team's future goals. Fans will be excited to see how Kpii performs in this new environment and whether the team will be able to secure a slot at the Bali Major 2023 with a Top 3 finish in the DPC SEA Tour 3: Division I standings.
