Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 just launched and a lot of players are unable to queue up with their friends. If your Social features are not working in the new Warzone, you are not alone. Players have figured out a workaround for now that you can use until the issue is fixed by Activision. Instead of using the Social menu, you can use the Channels feature to invite friends.
Warzone 2.0 Social Not Working: How to Fix
The social not working error is a bug that prevents players from accessing Warzone’s 2.0 social menu to invite players or join them. For some players, chat and forums features also stop working and you will be unable to view conversations that take place in-game. Here’s what you can do to fix it.
If you are on Steam or Battle.net:
-
Launch Steam or Battle.net
-
Invite or join players using the Friends feature on either app instead of the in-game Social menu.
The same method can also be used for Xbox and PlayStation’s social features but the problem seems to be nonexistent for console players. If you do run into the issue on consoles, simply use your console’s Friends feature and create a party with Warzone 2.0 running.
There is also an alternate method in-game in case you have trouble with the previous method.
-
Launch Warzone 2.0
-
Click on the Headset icon in the top-right corner
-
Create a New Channel
-
Name the Channel and Save
-
You can now add four friends to join your channel
The Social menu bug will be fixed soon in Warzone 2.0 and you will be able to add your friends and party up once the planned hotfix is released. The developers are already working on the issue and we can expect an update in a day or two.
If you want to be updated when the fix goes live you can check the Activision Support Twitter account for the latest updates.
