MrBeast Is a Special Guest on the Worlds 2022 Broadcast

Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson is one of the most popular content creators and YouTube personalities, and he is famous for his ever-growing YouTube empire. Over the years, MrBeast has been very vocal about his love for League of Legends. Riot Games has acknowledged MrBeast’s love for its flagship title and has officially announced that he will be a special guest on the most iconic Worlds 2022 broadcast.

Riot Games via its LoLEsports (League of Legends Esports) handle wrote, “We're excited to announce that @MrBeast will stop by and join our team as a special guest tomorrow during the #Worlds2022 Finals broadcast!

MrBeast’s history with League of Legends

In June, MrBeast announced that he might host a League of Legends tournament soon. Replying to this, Riot Games’ Co-Founder, Co-Chairman, and President Marc “Tryandamere” Merrill told him, “Let us know if you need some help!

Staying true to his words, he hosted a League of Legends tournament against fellow content creator Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. The MrBeast vs. Ninja Ultimate Crown event featured a best-of-three match between two stacked teams as part of Amazon and Prime Gaming’s Prime Day celebrations on 9th July.

The two teams were

Team Ninja

  • Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng

  • Ludwig “Ludwig” Ahgren

  • Sapnap

  • Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp

  • Tyler "Ninja" Blevins

Team MrBeast

  • Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo

  • Emily “Emiru” Schunk

  • Hammoudi Moe “Yassuo” Abdalrhman

  • Joedat "Voyboy" Esfahani

  • MrBeast

While Team MrBeast won the best-of-three series, Ninja’s team won a bonus match.

In an episode of the Full Send Podcast that premiered on 30th September titled “MrBeast Reveals His Secret YouTube Formula and How He Plans to be Worth $100 Billion!”, the YouTuber talked about League of Legends and recalled hosting a grudge match against Ninja. “I was hooked onto League of Legends for a long time. I actually just hosted a League of Legends tournament.

Following this, he said, “I have been playing League of Legends for 10 years. I want to own a League of Legends team. I love League. So the next year or the year after we’re gonna buy a League team.” Notably, MrBeast stated that he could not reveal how much it would actually cost to buy a team but hinted that it was eight figures.

One could say that the star YouTuber is deadset on owning a League of Legends team. In 2020, during his 24-hour giveaway stream, he talked about creating “Beast Gaming” to compete in LoLEsports.

He’s also interacted with notable League of Legends players and streamers including Doublelift, Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg, and Tyler1 on social media or while streaming.

With MrBeast on board the Worlds 2022 broadcast, the community has been jokingly commenting about increasing the prize pool of the tournament. Notably, T1 CEO Joe Marsh said, “Double that prize pool Jimmy!

It is clear that Riot Games is trying to improve the viewership of its iconic end-of-the-year tournament. The publisher also, for the first time in the history of Worlds, has invited guests to co-stream League of Legends Worlds.

Fans will witness the iconic Worlds 2022 Opening Ceremony and the clash between the titans: T1 and DRX on 5th November in the grand finals of Worlds 2022 at the Chase Center.
