Team HAVK Achieves Best Finish Ever by Indian PUBG Team in International Event

Team HAVK was the Indian representative at the international PUBG (Player Unknowns Battle Grounds) tournament, Asia Pacific Predator League 2022, where some of the best teams from across Asia had gathered to compete against each other on LAN.

After competing for three days, Team HAVK, managed to attain a respectable tenth place finish having secured a total of 64 points, including 32 finish points and 32 placement points. However, they were unable to secure even a single WWCD (Winner Winner Chicken Dinner).

Pratik "Aurum" Mehra, one of the best PUBG players from India who is also the captain of this team was proud of the team's performance, "This is the best performance of any Indian team who went out to represent India in PUBG PC."

Team HAVK puts on quite the performance at the Asia Pacific Predator League 2022

Team HAVK put on quite the performance at an international PUBG tournament in Japan The grand final stage of Asia Pacific Predator League 2022 concluded yesterday after three days of intense action from 11th to 13th November.

A total of 16 teams from Asia participated in this tournament, earning a spot for themselves by making their way through various regional qualifiers.

Team HAVK cemented a spot for itself in the main tournament by qualifying through the Indian Qualifier earlier this year. The lineup consisted of the following players,

  1. Pratik "Aurum" Mehra - IGL

  2. Vinay "Hades" Rao

  3. Vedang "Vedzz" Chavan

  4. Karthik "Killua" Vijayakumar

  5. Habibi

The team gave its best shot at the international LAN tournament which took place in Japan, placing tenth overall after scoring a total of 64 points in 15 matches, a difference of just two points separating them from the ninth placed Macan Semeru.

Talking about the team's performance following the conclusion of this tournament, HAVK's captain Aurum pointed why this performance despite not being the best was worth an applause, "The performance with (a) two month old team and very less amount of competitive practice due to lack of scrims for Indian teams, (and) to compete against (an) international lobby, our performance was still average against the best teams of the SEA region."

Statement by Aurum about Team HAVK performance

Only the top three teams got a share of the $120,000 USD total prize pool,

  1. Genius Esports | $75,000 USD

  2. DAMWON Gaming | $30,000 USD

  3. ArkAngel Predator | $15,000 USD

The team put on a great performance considering that esports scene for PUBG is majorly non-existent in the country. With the team only competing in a single international tournament each year, these results are clearly more than just satisfactory.
