The off-season continues to provide shocking news as Thunder Awaken (TA) has announced that it has released the remaining players in its Dota 2 roster. The remaining three players will become free agents following the announcement earlier today (8th November). Thunder Awaken was performing above expectations this year as the team was outperforming its South American (SA) rival, beastcoast in all aspects.
Despite making history at TI11 (The International 2022) for SA by finishing in the top six, Thunder Awaken will be looking to fully rebuild its Dota 2 roster for the 2022/2023 DPC (Dota Pro Circuit) season.

“Today we'd like to announce the departure of our team. As an organization we are proud to have competed at a high level in TI11 consolidating a Top 6 and also in other international tournaments such as Stockholm Major and ESL Malaysia.” announced the organization to the surprise of many.

This roster update comes after beastcoast recently announced its newest roster for the 2022/2023 DPC season, replacing the departing Jean "Chris Luck" Salazar & Adrián "Wisper" Dobles with Thunder Awaken’s Darkmago & Sacred. With two of its players gone, many expected TA to rebuild its roster around its remaining players for the upcoming season. However, the opposite unfolded as the SA organization announced that it will be looking towards a full rebuild.
Following its disappointing 2021 season, Thunder Awaken underwent a full roster rebuild for 2022 as it signed a young and talented roster consisting of 4 players from NoPing e-sports & Sacred from Infamous Gaming.
It didn't take long for the roster to garner attention from the community, as the team dethroned beastcoast to become the best team in the South American (SA) region. In addition, the team managed to secure top six finishes at ESL One Malaysia & the Stockholm Major. The team then went on to make history at TI11 (The International 2022) by becoming the first SA team to secure a top six finish at The International.
Not much is yet known about the new roster, however TA have all but confirmed that Wildcard Gaming’s Ricardo "Alone" Fernandez will become the new mid laner of the team in a recent Facebook post.
