Enigma Gaming Coach “yb” Departs Indian Esports to Join RRQ

Enigma Gaming’s Valorant coach Lukas "yb" Gröning is leaving the Indian esports scene and is joining the Indonesian Valorant team Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ). He was regarded as one of the best coaches in the Indian Valorant scene and helped Enigma Gaming achieve its recent successes in the Indian Valorant scene. He will continue his coaching role with RRQ which is one of the franchised teams in the Valorant Asia-Pacific League 2023.

Yb’s long history with Indian esports may have come to an end

Yb is originally from Germany and he stepped into the Indian esports scene as a coach for OpTic India’s CS:GO roster where he eventually became a player. He has years of experience competing in Europe and India.

After OpTic India ceased its operations in India, he ended up joining Signify where he had a solid run before parting ways. He continued playing with the ex-Signify roster without Agneya ‘Marzil’ Koushik.

He retired from CS:GO and moved on to Valorant as Enigma Gaming’s coach in 2021. He helped steer the team into a third-place finish at Valorant Conquerors’ Championship and first-place finishes at TEC Challenger Series 8, Skyesports Pro Invitational S1, WD Black Cup: Season 3 and the Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cup 2021.

Yb has been a figure in the Indian esports scene for years and he is now moving on to Indonesia to pursue coaching. With Enigma Gaming not quality for 2023’s APAC League, yb will get the opportunity to showcase his skills at the global level with RRQ. He will be going up against Global Esports, a team that has been one of the strongest rivals of Enigma Gaming since its debut in Valorant.

RRQ is one of the 10 teams that have partnered with Riot Games for the League. The Asia-Pacific League features some of the biggest teams in the world including T1, DRX, ZETA Division and more. Yb will debut as RRQ’s coach the APAC league on 26th March 2023.
