The Esports Players Welfare Association (EPWA) has established a hotline and a chatbot for the Indian esports community that seeks to protect their rights and help with other issues. The new hotline is supported by EPWA’s legal, health, and wellness professionals. The hotline seeks to help with issues resolution for the estimated 420 million gamers in India. Here’s everything you need to know about EPWA’s hotline.
How the new EPWA hotline works
Players can either call the hotline number or access the chatbot on any device via an internet browser.

EPWA revealed that it established the hotline number at a fitting time when the online gaming industry is embracing the colossal policy and legal change that the government has recently announced, and a structured allocation has been made for esports and gaming in the country.
Shivani Jha, the Director at EPWA, revealed, “Our focus is to help online gamers resolve their legal issues, including gamers’ representation and taxation, as well as helping them with gaming wellness and health-related issues. We are here to help resolve many issues that can negatively impact a user's gaming experience or discourage them from playing altogether.”
This hotline is accessible to users from 10 AM to 5 PM, from Mondays to Fridays, except on public holidays. The team managing the hotline is staffed with trained legal, and health and wellness professionals. Users can call the hotline number or chat with a chatbot to resolve issues quickly and effectively. The helpline and chatbot are easily accessible on smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
The EPWA was formed as India’s only online gamers’ welfare association. It is based in New Delhi as a nonprofit organization. There are over 13,000 members across 24 states who are a part of the network.
