Spero Highlights Challenges Associated with Content Creation

Indian esports caster Piyush “Spero” Bathla recently discussed whether content creation or being an esports player has longer opportunities, and spoke about the challenges associated with content creation. Spero explained that content creation does not necessarily have longer career prospects, citing the challenge of consistently creating content. He used the example of popular Indian content creator Ashish Chanchalani, stating that even he struggled to create content consistently, and hence, did not post videos for around a year . He also explained that audience preferences change over time, causing some creators to lose viewership and engagement.

Spero believes content creation has longer opportunities than being an esports player

In a recent livestream, a viewer asked Spero whether content creation has more longer opportunities as compared to being a professional esports player. Responding to this, Spero expressed that content creation is not as easy as it seems and warned against assuming it has longer career prospects. The caster went on to explain that not everyone is able to sustain a career in content creation for a long duration, indicating that it can be a challenging field to succeed in.

To support his statement, Spero put forth the example of Ashish Chanchalani, a content creator and influencer who is known for making comedy videos on his Youtube channel Ashish Chanchlani Vines. He noted that despite making videos for a long time, Chanchalani had gone through a phase of not posting any videos for around a year, highlighting the challenges of consistently creating content. “Now, he started posting again. It is all about how long you can create videos consistently. However, his fan following has always been with him,” he added.

Although Chanchlani’s audience stayed loyal to him, Spero noted that not all content creators are as fortunate as him. He shared his observations, citing instances where creators with large subscriber bases, such as 1 Million or 2 Million, did not receive the same level of viewership or engagement as they used to. He explained that the reason behind losing this viewership or engagement is that the audience’s preferences change over time.

It is a common misconception that creating content is easy. Spero provided valuable insights on how challenging it can be to consistently create content and keep the audience engaged with your content.
