Nitr0 May Pursue Another Competitive Game Following CS:GO Retirement

One of the most popular and successful CS:GO players from North America, Nick "nitr0" Cannella, announced his retirement from the title ahead of the ongoing IEM Masters Dallas 2023. However, it seems his competitive journey in esports is still not over, with a slew of recent statements hinting towards a potential return to Valorant.

During a recent interview with Dust2.us, nitr0 expressed that despite retiring from Counter-Strike he is leaving his options open for other games and any other stuff that comes his way.

"If I get an offer I will consider it obviously, but as of now I'm just going to start my stream up and just try to see where that takes me because there's nothing else to really do right now," said nitr0.

Potential return to Valorant on the cards for nitr0 as he steps away from CS:GO

Before the start of IEM Masters Dallas 2023, nitr0 had announced his departure from competitive CS:GO while also stepping down from Team Liquid's active roster following the conclusion of this tournament.

The reason behind this was the amount of travel which had become too much for the seasoned veteran following the birth of his second child, "I have been traveling constantly for 8-9 years and it has been amazing but I am at a different stage in my life now with a growing family."

In the same announcement, nitr0 mentioned that he had no idea about the next chapter of his life but he plans to begin streaming in the near future.

Statement by nitr0

During a recent interview which took place in the middle of the tournament, nitr0 was asked for some clarity about his future following the conclusion of his last CS:GO event to which 'Captain America' responded by admitting that he would love to continue playing competitively maybe in a different title.

For now, he would just like to stream and if an offer from any other game came his way, he would surely be down to consider it and act accordingly. This means that a potential return to Valorant could be on the cards, either as a player, coach, or as part of the support staff.

Team Liquid's journey in the IEM Masters Dallas 2023 came to an end yesterday on 31st May following a 2-0 defeat to FaZe Clan, making it the last professional CS:GO match of nitr0's career.

He will now be returning to his family and start streaming soon, but he is still looking forward to continue competing somewhere down the line and Valorant is one of the titles that he could potentially return to.
