Nigma Galaxy’s GH Talks About Playing With ATF

Following the team’s first win of the season against OG in Division I of the Western Europe Dota Pro Circuit 2023 (WEU DPC), Nigma Galaxy’s star support Maroun "GH" Merhej was taken aside for a post-match interview. Nigma Galaxy was on a losing streak during the Winter Tour with consecutive losses in the regional league, however a much-needed win against OG gave it a chance to fight for an extended stay in Division I for the Spring Tour.

During the interview, the Lebanese support talked about the team’s chemistry with its newcomer, Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf.

“We are focusing on his strengths” - GH describes playing with ATF

During the post match interview, GH was asked by panelist Alexandra "Sheepsticked" Roberts about the team’s newest addition ATF as the player was well known for playing as an offlaner. However, he was recently recruited to the team as a carry.

GH replied by saying that it is important to play to the player’s strengths, as opposed to forcing him to play out of his comfort zone.  “I think, when you pick up a new player for the team, it is to play on his strengths. Let’s say, this certain player shines on certain heroes and rules. I think this is what you need to address as opposed to trying to get the player out of their comfort zone. I think it would make a huge difference and he wouldn't play as well and feel comfortable. `" he said.

He also noted that the team is focusing on strategizing around ATF’s playstyle while also praising the latter for his work ethic. “So I would believe that we are focusing on his strengths as we are on everyone else’s strengths. I would definitely say that he has a good attitude, he’s a hard worker and I’ve seen him playing a lot of games while trying to expand his hero pool as a carry player, So I’m happy with him especially because of his work ethic. ” he added.

While the victory against OG gave the team a chance to fight for an extended stay in Division I for the upcoming tour, Nigma Galaxy still needed to win two more games if the team wants to avoid tiebreakers against Team Secret at the end of the tour.
