Tundra Esports' Skiter Talks About Team Secret’s Recent Decline

Tundra Esports’ championship winning carry player Oliver "skiter" Lepko recently talked about Team Secret’s recent decline in form, after having defeated them with a quick 2-0 victory in Division I of the Western Europe Dota Pro Circuit 2023 (WEU DPC 2023): Winter Tour. Despite having lost only one series against Team Liquid earlier in the tour, Tundra Esports is still on course to earning itself a direct qualification for the Lima Major.

During the interview, skiter mainly talked about the Tundra's latest opponent as well as the team’s scrim partners during the current competitive season.

Skiter has faith in Puppey’s ability to make Team Secret great again

During the post match interview, Tundra Esports’ skiter was asked by the panel about the team’s latest opponent, Team Secret. Tundra defeating Secret has led to the latter suffering its fifth consecutive loss in the WEU DPC. He started off by saying that despite Secret’s bad form, the team tends to perform well when it matters most. “I mean it’s sad to see fellow TI finalists doing bad in the DPC. But if you guys remember, the team did not do well during the last DPC season but they improved during the Regional & Last Chance Qualifiers and they just started to click together.” he said.

He also noted that he has faith in Team Secret’s captain Clement "Puppey" Ivanov’s abilities to get the team back on track as the season progresses. “Who knows? I mean, it’s Puppey’s [team] right. He has been to every TI (The International) and he had great success with the team. I’m sure he’ll get it fixed by the time TI comes around and we’ll see him there.” he added.

Skiter also spoke about how the team practiced scrims against Eastern European teams like BetBoom Team and Team Spirit, as he revealed that Tundra Esports tends to not scrim with teams within WEU to avoid giving out advantages.

“I mean, we always keep an eye out for Team Spirit since they have always been our scrim partners ever since the roster was established. But ever since BetBoom was formed, they looked like the new Team Spirit in the region so we played against them all the time as they are a good and creative team. We do practice against Team Liquid sometimes, but we don't scrim against WEU teams for obvious reasons.”

Tundra Esports is currently in second place in the WEU DPC standings, with four wins and one loss. The team is still on course to securing a place in the upcoming Lima Major despite Team Liquid having already secured the first slot in the WEU region.
