OR Esports Steps Into Competitive Valorant With a North American Roster

North American esports organization, OR Esports, a part of games industry leader PTW (Pole To Win), has picked up its second esports team while stepping into competitive Valorant for the first time ever.

A team that was formerly known as Stealing Lunch Money has been acquired by OR Esports and is currently ranked 10th within the North American region, according to vlr.gg.

The lineup recently put on a really strong performance at the Challengers League: North America Last Chance Qualifiers which is a part of the Valorant Champions Tour 2023 - Americas, placing second to qualify for Split 1 which is scheduled to take place from 2nd February to 15th March.

OR Esports signs a North American lineup to start competing in Valorant

Valorant is the second esports title that OR Esports has entered following on the success it achieved in PUBG Mobile, having signed an Indian lineup for the mobile title in 2019 that has since won multiple tournaments in the national and international scene.

According to PTW, the PUBG Mobile team of OR Esports gained a 38% growth in the last two years, while hitting a peak of 64,000 concurrent viewers on their channel during the Legends Rise Tournament. Apart from this, the organization was also able to gain big sponsors like KFC (Kentucy Fried Chicken), Zebronics, Rooter, and AMD (Advanced Micro Devices).

Now, OR Esports is looking to replicate the same success story with Valorant in a different region. Talking on this, Kasturi Rangan - Chief Creative Office at OR Esports, says "We are excited to bring that spirit to PC gaming in North America. OR Esports is about community, fun, and our fans. That ethos remains the same with our new team."

The new Valorant team of OR Esports is as follows,

  2. Dayton "Lear" Akau

  3. Chase "nillyaz" Linder

  4. Elijah "zeldris" Hawkins

  5. Vincent "PureVNS" Nguyen

  6. Erik "vapen" Sutton - Head Coach

  7. Chris "Huijinyong" Yong - Assistant Coach

Initially, while still competing under the banner of Stealing Lunch Money the team failed to qualify for the Challengers League: North America Split 1 through the Open Qualifiers, but the team came back to deliver an even stronger performance in the Last Chance Qualifier to qualify for the main event.

OR Esports will be seen in action along with some of the best Valorant teams from the region like FaZe Clan, TSM, Shopify Rebellion, G2 Esports, The Guard, and many other teams, fighting for a chance to make it through to the Mid-Season Invitational.
