How to Inspect Weapons in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (MW2), the sequel to Modern Warfare 2019 and the 19th addition to the Call of Duty (CoD) series, was released on 28th October. The game brought forth impressive graphics, improved combat mechanisms, new game modes, and new maps for players to enjoy. Just like any other FPS game, Modern Warfare 2 also allows players to show their shining personalities in-game by customizing the guns with skins, stickers, and weapon charms. In order to look closely at the decals and customizations in-game, players will need to inspect their weapons. This article will detail how to inspect weapons in Modern Warfare 2.

Inspecting weapons in Modern Warfare 2

Inspecting weapons in-game is a simple mechanic that allows players to have a closer, in-depth look at their favorite blueprints and weapon cosmetics.

In case you want to admire the beauty of your weapon in between kills, all you have to do is inspect your weapon and flex on your enemies and show off your loadout. Let’s be honest, we did not go through all that trouble to keep these gorgeous camos to ourselves.

Here’s how you inspect weapons in Modern Warfare 2:

Taking a closer look at your weapon is not really difficult in the game and is simple and straightforward.

  • For PlayStation and Xbox players:  If you play Modern Warfare on your PlayStation or your Xbox using your controller, you can inspect your weapon by simply holding left on the D-Pad.

  • Mouse and Keyboard players: Mouse and keyboard players just need to press the “I” key to take in their weapons’ in-game beauty.

In case you are not comfortable with these default keys, you can head over to the in-game settings and swap the “inspect” option onto a different keybind as per your preference.

When you trigger weapon inspection using “I” or holding left on the D-Pad, your character will lift the weapon and allow you to view the gun’s body, magazine, and the camo that’s on it. If you do want to see a mastery camo like the Gold one, you can inspect your weapon in a better light. However, be wary of enemies when you choose to inspect the weapon outside. Your character will take its time to bring the gun back down and get ready to shoot and this could prove unfortunate if you happen to meet a foe on the battlefield.
