Shopify Rebellion's Arteezy Reveals His Top Carry Inspirations in Competitive Dota 2

Artour "Arteezy" Babaev recently spoke about the carry players he enjoyed watching, following  his team’s victory against 5RATFORCESTAFF in the North American Dota Pro Circuit 2023 (NA DPC) Tour I: Division I. Shopify Rebellion is currently looking to be on course to qualify for the upcoming Lima Major after its fourth consecutive victory in the region.

Arteezy has been instrumental in Shopify Rebellion’s success in the NA DPC, currently boasting the highest GPM (658) in the region and the second highest Kills/Deaths/Assists (KDA) score with an impressive 12.00 average KDA.

Arteezy picks MATUMBAMAN & Ame as his inspirations

During a post match interview, Shopify Rebellion’s Arteezy was asked about the players that he usually favors and looked up to for inspiration. Arteezy mentioned that his first choice was recently retired Team Liquid carry Lasse "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen. “It used to be Matu, I think. I don’t know who it is now. I used to enjoy watching Matu play like he was different from the other carries in the game. He has his own flow and he usually does not get affected by other things going on so I really appreciated that,” he said.

However, he also mentioned that PSG.LGD’s Wang "Ame" Chunyu would have been his current choice if it were not for his current hiatus from competitive play. “As of now, I don’t know who it would be, I would have chosen Ame but he’s also out at the moment so now I have to find that one person to look up to,“ he added.

Arteezy also went into detail about the team’s practice routine, before jokingly saying that they tend to get beaten by European (EU) teams in an effort to avoid being complacent. “We usually practiced a lot with the European teams and tend to get smashed by them. So that usually keeps us in check. So we usually keep our heads down and work on improving ourselves. In terms of practicing with EU teams, I think there are a lot of differences between meta heroes in NA and EU. Like when we scrim against NA, South America (SA) or even EU, every region has a difference in terms on how they lane. But overall I think EU is way ahead of the meta compared to other regions, so it's a big difference.”

Shopify Rebellion are currently on top of the standings of the NA DPC 2023 Tour I: Division I, with a couple more victories virtually securing it a place in the upcoming Lima Major 2023 alongside Team Liquid and Team Aster if the team continues its undefeated streak.
