Jaheira is one of the most iconic characters in the Baldur’s Gate franchise and she has been part of the story long before Baldur’s Gate 3 came into existence. The legendary Druid can join your travels as a Companion if you play your cards right. If you want to add Jaheira to your party in Baldur’s Gate 3, here’s what you need to do. Do note that we will go over some heavy spoilers for Act 2 of the game so you might want to proceed with caution.
Players can recruit Jaheira in Baldur’s Gate 3 during Act 2
In Baldur's Gate 3, your journey might lead you to the Last Light Inn at the start of Act 2. There are three main paths to reach the inn: follow the Harpers via the Underdark/Grymforge, encounter Kar’niss the Drider through the Mountain Pass, or betray Kar’niss during an ambush to side with the Harpers, which is challenging but rewarding.
Once you arrive at the inn, seize the opportunity to have a conversation with Jaheira. Pay close attention to her tales and concerns, as this initial interaction sets the tone for your future relationship. As events unfold, Jaheira will ask for your aid in the upcoming battle at Moonrise Towers.
At Moonrise Towers, you'll encounter Jaheira again, and you face a crucial choice: let her lead the Harpers as an NPC (non player character) or persuade her to fight alongside you as a temporary companion. It is advisable to have her as a companion to ensure her safety.
Navigating through Moonrise Towers is no easy task, and you'll eventually face the formidable Ketheric Thorm. After weakening him, he'll retreat to the pits below. Before pursuing him, ask Jaheira to aid you against Ketheric. This gesture solidifies her role in your party.
To ensure Jaheira survives and joins your party, be mindful of the following:
Guard Isobel: During the monster attack at Last Light Inn, protect Isobel from harm. If she is injured, a curse will spread, forcing you and Jaheira to fight for your lives.
Dark Urge Choice: If you have the Dark Urge origin, resist the temptation to kill Isobel. If you do, Jaheira will know and confront you in a battle to the death.
Protect Nightsong: If Shadowheart is about to harm Nightsong, intervene. If Nightsong is harmed, Jaheira will meet a tragic end.
During the Assault on the Towers: Always include Jaheira as a direct member of your team, not just an NPC. This reduces the chance of her getting killed in battle.
By following these steps and making thoughtful choices, you can recruit Jaheira in Baldur’s Gate 3.
