Soniqs Dominates Day 1 of the Gamers8 PGS 2 Grand Finals with back-to-back Match Wins

The Grand Finals of the Gamers8 PUBG Global Series 2023 has finished its first day and Soniqs and NAVI stand strong at the top of the table. While the group stages and the Bracket Stages with the Winners and Losers brackets were all played across 2 days with 12 matches, the Grand Finals have a larger scale of 18 matches across 3 days, so even the teams that haven’t found their footing yet in the Grand Finals will have ample chances to make a comeback.

Losers Bracket Match 1 Recap (Miramar)

The first match of the Grand Finals started slowly with teams playing more cautiously and Soniqs ended up on top with a 15-point Chicken Dinner. Danawa e-sports played the first match a bit more ruthlessly with much more kills than any other team and finished second with 11 kills and 17 points. NAVI also made the top 3 with 11 points.

Losers Bracket Match 2 Recap (Miramar)

Soniqs kept their momentum and took a consecutive win in Match 2 with a 16-point Chicken Dinner solidifying an early lead for themselves in the Grand Finals. Theerathon Five and Danawa e-sports also made the top 3 with 12 and 8 points. 

Losers Bracket Match 3 Recap (Taego)

During the Group Stage, NAVI finished second twice on Taego, and in the third match of the Grand Finals, they pulled out their first win on the map with an impressive 21-point Chicken Dinner. 17 Gaming and The Expendables also make their first top 3 appearances in the Grand Finals with 7 and 12 points.

Losers Bracket Match 4 Recap (Erangel)

The first match on Erangel saw Faze and Gen.G make somewhat of a comeback from their underwhelming performances in the first three maps. Faze brought out a sizeable victory with a 19-point Chicken Dinner and GenG finished second with 12 points. Soniqs filled the last spot in the top 3 with 8 points. 

Losers Bracket Match 5 Recap (Erangel)

Match 5 saw Theerathon Five get their first win of the Grand Finals with an 18 point victory. Danawa e-sports also reached the top 3 with 9 points alongside Twisted Minds who finished third with 9 points as well.

Losers Bracket Match 6 Recap (Erangel)

The last match of Day 1 saw Question Mark make their first top 3 appearance with an 18-point Chicken Dinner. And the rest of the top 3 was filled with the familiar names of Twisted Minds and NAVI with 15 and 7 points respectively.

Day 2 of the Grand Finals of the Gamers8 PUBG Global Series 2023 will be underway on 19th August. Teams like Soniqs and NAVI will look to solidify their lead even further while teams like 4AM and Cerberus Esports will look to claw their way back to the top.
