Vanquishers in TFT Runeterra Reforged: Horizonbound Explained

Riot Games introduced Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 9.5 Runeterra Reforged: Horizonbound and wrote, "Bilgewater, Ixtal, item reworks, and new Region Portals—grab your snorkeling gear and let’s dive in!"

This mid-set update will go live with Patch 13.18 on 13th September and apart from the two new vertical traits -- Bilgewater and Ixtal -- there is also a new class called Vanquishers in TFT Horizonbound. The class has two 4-cost units in Nilah and Xayah and also includes some other familiar faces.

Here's all you need to know about the Vanquishers in TFT 9.5 Runeterra Reforged: Horizonbound.

TFT Set 9.5 Vanquishers: Break Points, Bonuses, Units & More

Riot Games described this new class, "Vanquishers are the bane of frontliners." Their spells can critically strike, and they have bonus critical strike chance and damage. Notably, these values increase as players hit breakpoints, but the real kicker of the class is the "bonus true damage Vanquishers do against enemies with 1600 Health or more."

So when you see a team filled with tanky frontliners like the Bruiser class, be sure to recruit Vanquishers to your board.

The breakpoints for Vanquishers are 2/4/6

The following are the units in the Vanquisher class:

  • Jhin: Tier 1 Ionia

  • Ashe: Tier 2 Freljord

  • Darius: Tier 3 Juggernaut, Slayer

  • Nilah: Tier 4 Bilgewater

  • Xayah: Tier 4 Ionia

You can use Vanquishers to tear through the tanks and infiltrate the enemy's backline. Riot Games suggested, "While you’ll be running 2 Vanquisher in vertical Ionia comps, adding an additional Vanquisher to your Bilgewater comps or Noxus reroll comps can turn your enemy’s frontline into a flat line."

Additionally, now that Darius has gotten new traits in this mid-set, players can also hope to do a slow roll powerhouse comp for Level 7 with 3 Noxus (Darius, Katarina or Mordekaiser, Swain or eventually Sion), 2 Vanquishers (Ashe, Darius), 2 Freljord (Ashe, Sejuani), 2 Bruisers (Rek’Sai, Sejuani) and 4 Slayer (Darius, Rek’Sai, Quinn, Mordekaiser).

Riot Games also noted that this would be a three-cost heavy composition and hence asked players to keep an eye out for Three’s A Crowd Augment and Titan’s Resolve item.

Notably, Riot Games stated that Aphelios did not make it over to the Vanquishers since the "moody moon lad has embraced his love of guns" and that he has been accepted by Gunners.

Nilah & Xayah: Abilities

The 4-cost units in the upcoming TFT mid-set update Horizonbound for Vanquishers are Nilah and Xayah. Their abilties are as follows:

Nilah: Nilah's attacks strike in an AoE [area of effect]. She dives the enemy donning a shield, and gaining attack speed.

Xayah: Shred your foes' armor with razor-sharp feathers. Xayah has a new class, Vanquisher, which increases critical strike chance against tankier enemies.

Since Riot Games has not specified the abilities of Jhin, Ashe and Darius, it is highly likely that their abilities have not undergone any changes during this mid-set update.
