The Gamers8 2023 Rocket League tournament matches kicked off right on schedule on 24th August. The event is happening at Riyadh Boulevard in an offline LAN setting and a total of 24 teams ascended the stage on Day 1 to compete and take home the lion's share of the $2 Million USD prize pool.
On Day 1, four groups of six teams each began the competition in a double-elimination bracket. All matches were best-of-five (BO5). Following the end of Day 2 on 25th August, the top two teams per group - eight in total - qualified for the Playoffs.

Gamers8 2023 Rocket League: Eight Teams Qualify for Playoffs
The tournament saw the participation of 24 teams in total and they were divided into four groups of six. Here's the break down of all the four groups and the two teams that qualified from them respectively.
Group A
Group A had the likes of Ground Zero, Oxygen Esports, OpTic Gaming, Gaimin Gladiators, Team Vitality, and G2 Esports. In the Upper Bracket (UB) Quarters, Oxygen Esports and OpTic Gaming won and moved onto the UB Semis against Team Vitality and G2 Esports, respectively.
Oxygen won against Team Vitality and G2 won against OpTic, thus forming the UB Final matchup. Here, Oxygen Esports dominated and won the series and qualified.
Meanwhile, in the lower bracket (LB), OpTic Gaming and Team Vitality won in the LB quarters and faced each other in the LB Semifinal. Team Vitality came out on top with a 3-0 score against OpTic and moved to the LB Final against G2 Esports. The LB Final was also a straight win for Team Vitality which defeated G2 with a 3-0 score.
The teams that moved onto the Playoffs from Group A are Oxygen Esports and Team Vitality.
Group B
The following teams were in Group B:

Gen.G Mobil1 Racing
In the UB Quarters of the Rocket League tournament, Twisted Minds and Monkeys won against Elevate and NiP, respectively, with 3-0 scores. However, both these teams failed to win in the UB semis.
In the UB semis, Team BDS and Gen.G won and when these two met in the UB finals, it was Team BDS who won the series 3-0 and qualified for the Playoffs first.
Meanwhile, in the LB quarters, Twisted Minds and Monkeys once again won against their respective opponents. This time, in the LB Semis, it was Twisted Minds and Monkeys who went up against each other and Monkeys proved to the stronger team on that occasion, as it qualified for the LB Final against Gen.G.
The heroics of Monkeys in the lower bracket did not continue in the LB Final as Gen.G comfortably won the series with a 3-1 score.
The teams that moved onto the Playoffs from Group B are Team BDS and Gen.G.
Group C
The teams that moved onto the Playoffs from Group C are Team Falcons and FURIA.
In the UB Quarters, FaZe Clan won against Pioneers, and in the other series, FURIA won against Limitless. Unfortunately, both these teams lost their respective matchups in the UB Semis against Karmine Corp and Team Falcons, and got pushed to the lower brackets.
In the Upper Bracket Final, KCorp and Team Falcons went up against each other and it was Team Falcons who won the series with a 3-1 score, securing its Playoffs seat.
Meanwhile, in the LB, FURIA and FaZe met in the LB semis and FURIA won the series. Following this, FURIA faced K Corp in the LB Finals and won the series with a close 3-2 scoreline.
Group D
Rule One and Version1 are the two teams that qualified for the Playoffs from Group D.
Here's a break down of what happened in Group D in both the Upper and Lower brackets:
UB Quarters: In the first matchup, Version1 won against suhhh and in the second series, Team Secret won against KOI.
UB Semis: Version1 won against Team Liquid with a 3-2 score and Rule One won against Team Secret with a 3-0 straight victory.
Following this, Version1 and Rule One faced each other in the UB Finals and here, Rule One won the series and qualified for the Playoffs as the first seed.
Meanwhile, in the Lower Bracket, Team Secret and Team Liquid met in the LB Semifinal after defeating suhhh and KOI in the quarters. However, it was Team Liquid that won the LB semifinal and moved on to the LB Final against Version1. But Version1 came out on top in the all-important series as it won the matchup with a 3-2 scoreline.
