Alistar has been a very strong pick in Arena mode in League of Legends which was released on 20th July in LoL Patch 13.14 as part of the big Soul Fighter 2023 Summer Event. Over the last few weeks, we have seen the emergence of certain champions as priority picks in the Arena mode. Alistar was picked by players in this limited-time mode (LTM) for many reasons: tanky, fun to play, and also powerful when paired with the right champions.
However, with the roll out of LoL Patch 13.15, Riot Games has temporarily disabled the Minotaur. Here's all we know about why Alistar is disabled currently.
Alistar Disabled in Arena Mode Temporarily
Earlier on 2nd August, the Riot Games developer team for League of Legends wrote on Twitter, "Alistar is temporarily disabled in Arena while we fix a bug with his ult. Our thoughts and prayers are with Poppy players missing their favorite duo."
While Riot Games did specify that the problem is with his Ultimate - Unbreakable Will, the developers did not dive into the details of the bug.
For those of you who do not know, this is how Alistar's R Unbreakable Will works: Alistar lets out a wild roar, removing all crowd control effects on himself, and reducing incoming physical and magical damage for the duration.
As a result, any crowd control (CC) effects applied on him is removed and he also takes less physical and magic damage from the enemies.
One Twitter user posed a question about Alistar taking negative damage to the developer team. They asked, "Is the bug the fact that he's completely immortal? Because I was dealing upwards of 60k damage in 10 seconds to the training dummy, yet the enemy Alistar didnt seem to give a f***."
Additionally, the following nerfs were directed at Alistar in Arena mode in LoL Patch 13.15 that was rolled out on 2nd August. They are as follows:

W Ability Haste: 0 ⇒ -30

R Ability Haste: 0 ⇒ -50
While Alistar seems overpowered with his kit and stature in the Arena mode, he is not even the most powerful support that is wreaking havoc in the battlefield. Taric continues to be a menace in Arena mode with his staggering statistics, despite the many nerfs dished out to him via the LoL micropatch 13.14.
Arena Mode is action-packed and picking the right champions is necessary to step onto the battlefield. As a result, players should know which champions to ban and pick in this mode. For now, you will not be able to pick Alistar and spam the annoying emote or headbutt your opponents into the Ring of Fire.
