Escape from Tarkov Arena is a standalone game project by Battlestate Games and is a session-based multiplayer first-person shooter (FPS) for PC. The game is packed with all the known and beloved characteristics and game mechanics of Escape from Tarkov. Escape from Tarkov Arena will feature player-vs-player (PvP) and player-vs-environment (PvE) game modes, ratings, weapons, and gear unlocks. Battlestate Games announced the project on 4th June 2022 with a trailer showing off some of the PvP gameplay.
This session-based multiplayer FPS will feature the game mechanics of Escape From Tarkov but in session-based battles in the arenas of the city of Tarkov. After a gap of a few months, Battlestate Games dropped a series of images on social media, detailing some of the Escape from Tarkov Arena maps.
Here’s everything we know about Escape from Tarkov Arena and the maps that were shared by the developer.
Escape from Tarkov Arena maps showcased
Battlestate Games’ next venture, Arena, will have ranked and unranked modes as well as a free-for-all mode called ‘Last Hero’, a team deathmatch mode called ‘Teamfight’, and a ‘Shootout Tournament’ mode.
On 7th April, Battlestate Games shared a bunch of new images on Twitter showcasing the maps in Tarkov Arena. While some of the maps are recognizable from earlier teasers from 2022, some of the images were brand new. Battlestate Games has drawn inspiration from games such as Contract Wars and Hired Ops since some of the maps look similar to environments from those games.
From the images shared, players could identify the names of the maps that were shared. We are not yet sure if there are more maps in the making or if these are the only available maps at this point in Arena. The maps were identified as follows:
-
Airpit
-
Sawmill
-
Equator
-
Bay-5
Earlier in 2022, fans were also introduced another map called Bowl.
On 8th April, the developers also shared the second teaser for their latest session-based multiplayer FPS. In the teaser, we were given a taste of what to expect gameplay-wise and it also showed off the in-game presents and weaponry available.
Note that the game will have additional unique features for those who own the main Escape from Tarkov game, like the ability to play as their main profile character. Players will take part in fights organized by a mysterious group of Arena Masters led by the Host.
Those who own the Edge of Darkness pack of Tarkov, Arena will be available for free as DLC. For all other versions of Tarkov, the Arena game will be paid. Also, note that you can purchase the Arena separately without buying the main game.
As of now, Battlestate Games has not announced an official release date for Escape From Tarkov Arena.
