Talon CEO comments on his team’s entry into Pokémon UNITE esports

Talon CEO Sean Zhang revealed in an official press release that Pokémon is an iconic IP and holds a special place in the hearts of millions of fans across the world, which is why Talon’s entry into Pokémon UNITE esports is very exciting for everyone at the organization.

He said, “With our history of building championship-winning teams in both the MOBA genre and in mobile gaming, we wanted to not only bring our professional performance knowledge to support aspiring players, but also to grow and contribute to the wider community.”

Talon wants to build a platform that allows fans of the region to connect with their passion for gaming and Pokémon UNITE is a prime title to achieve the organization’s goals.

Since the organization’s inception in 2017, Talon has entered League of Legends, Valorant, Dota 2 and Arena of Valor’s esports scenes. Talon is looking to replicate its regional and global success in Pokémon UNITE as well.

Pokémon UNITE was released in 2021 and has quickly garnered a massive fanbase, especially in the Southeast Asian region. The world championship is the most prestigious event in the game’s esports scene and Talon will be looking to qualify for the Yokohama LAN that is set to take place in August 2023.

The event will have a prize pool of $500,000 USD and it will feature teams from Japan, Southeast Asia, India, Europe, North America, Latin America North, Latin America South, Brazil and Oceania. The qualifiers for each region will take place from April to June, after which all regional qualifier winners will head to the LAN in August.
