100 Thieves’ Valorant roster has been officially announced and the team will not be seeing major changes. The 2022 core roster will be retained with Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiban being the only new signing. 100 Thieves General Manager Gabriel "ddk" Kapadia expressed his excitement about the upcoming 2023 Americas League season and sees Cryocells as a perfect fit for the team.
100 Thieves’ Valorant roster is finally seeing some stability
100 Thieves saw a massive number of roster changes over the past two years and fans often criticized the team for not sticking with one team. But it looks like the organization is finally looking to settle down with a roster that it sees fit for the Americas league. The new roster will feature the following players:
-
Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk
-
Derrek “Derrek” Ha
-
Brenden “stellar” McGrath
-
Sean “bang” Bezerra
-
Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiban
-
Michael “Mikes” Hockom (coach)
Ddk revealed in the official announcement, “We’re very excited regarding Cryo’s skillset. He’s a player that can instantly react and has a very high mechanical skill ceiling. We’re looking for that increased pace in that position, and I think that will allow us to do a lot more with the team.”
The general manager revealed that the team will be looking to improve Cryocell’s agent pool leading up to the next competitive season. The only other change to the 2022 roster is the introduction of Mikes as the head coach. With Sean Gares leaving 100 Thieves after the 2022 competitive season, Mikes is going to fill Gares’ shoes and will be taking up coaching responsibilities.
Asuna is the only player who has been around since the first Valorant Champions Tour season. Derrek, Bang and Stellar joined the team earlier this year and fans were unhappy with how 100 Thieves handled the transfers. Hunter “BabyJ” Schline and Adam “ec1s” Eccles were kept on the team for just a month before being removed from the roster. Fans felt that 100 Thieves was creating an unstable environment but things seem to have finally settled down as 100 Thieves will not be able to make any massive changes until the off-season next year.
The team is expected to announce one more player as a substitute leading up to the competitive season. With 100 Thieves not picking up an international player for its roster yet, it has the option to choose someone from a different region to fill in the sixth slot.
