Skyesports will be investing $1 million into prize pools over the next year
As a part of this partnership between the two companies, Skyesports will be investing $1 Million USD into prize pools for various tournaments in SEA across 2022 and 2023, including both online and LAN events. The company will have access to Ampverse’s pool of content creators across SEA for marketing initiatives and promotional activities.
In addition, Skyesports intends to develop additional original IPs with regional flavors that feature various esports games that gamers in the area favor. The Skyesports SEA Championship, powered by Ampverse, will be the company's first intellectual property in the area.
In a release, Shiva Nandy, founder and CEO of Skyesports, stated that the company was entering the SEA market with a long-term commitment, and that the company’s new office in Bangkok is indicative of that. “Together, I am sure that we will be creating some of the most loved esports IPs in the region soon,” he added.
Ferdinand Gutierrez, the CEO of Ampverse, said, “We’re excited to be partnering with Skyesports to support their expansion into SEA while also co-developing new IPs for the India market. This is a very complementary partnership, so we look forward to building new products together to both excite and entertain gamers across the region.”
Since it came into the spotlight in 2020, Skyesports has hosted multiple successful tournaments including the Skyesports Championship Series and the Skyesports League in the Indian region. It will be interesting to see if the company can replicate this success in the SEA region.
