PSG.LGD Demolish OG in TI11 Group Stage

PSG.LGD stomped OG 2-0 in its first series of Day 2 of The International 2022 (TI11). The Chinese team completely dominated the Western European squad, reversing its fortunes from day one where it only had a horrible 2-4 win-loss record, including a 0-2 loss to Evil Geniuses.

In addition, PSG.LGD fans will be relieved to see TI10’s runner up back on its feet, following amazing performances from Wang “Ame” Chunyu & Cheng ``NothingToSay '' Jin Xiang.

PSG.LGD vs OG: Match recap

PSG.LGD & OG had played against each other multiple times throughout the season, with their last match being at PGL Arlington Major, where PSG.LGD went on to defeat OG 2-1 in the Upper Bracket Semi Finals.

However, PSG.LGD had a bad start to its TI11 campaign yesterday, as the team were defeated by Evil Geniuses and tied its series against Hokori & Soniqs finishing with a 2-4 win-loss record.

Game One

PSG.LGD started off by drafting unconventional heroes, such as Shadow Fiend in the carry position, Pangolier in the mid lane and Venomancer in the offlane. OG opted to draft for stability, as it picked up Razor, Faceless Void and Magnus as its core lineup.

PSG.LGD’s unconventional draft ended up working its magic as the team dominated the Western Europe team from minute one. Despite attempts from OG’s core players to farm for its late game potential, Cheng ``NothingToSay '' Jin Xiang’s Pangolier rolled over OG as PSG.LGD secured Game One in just over 27 minutes.

Game Two

OG’s draft for Game Two was more late game oriented, as it drafted Shadow Fiend for Artem “Yuragi” Golubiev & Invoker for Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov for its core lineup. PSG.LGD on the other hand, drafted for early game dominance as it picked up an unusual Nature’s Prophet for Wang “Ame” Chunyu and Death Prophet for Zhang “Faith_bian” Ruida.

However, Game Two saw a repeat from the previous game as PSG.LGD once again dominated the entire map during the laning phase. Furthermore, Ame’s Hand of Midas build allowed him to constantly push around the map while keeping a high GPM (Gold per minute). Game Two ended after 30 minutes, as OG were forced to tap out.

Following the victory, PSG.LGD are looking to end Day Two with a 4-0 win-loss record, as the team faces a resurgent Team Liquid later today. Team Liquid is in fantastic form, having just handed Evil Geniuses its first defeat in TI11 and will be a formidable opponent for PSG.LGD.

As for OG, the team will need to revise its strategies when it faces Soniqs after the Fnatic vs beastcoast series. After a good start to the tournament, OG has suffered two consecutive losses which has put a complete halt to its momentum. It will need to recover quickly if it hopes to make it to the upper brackets of the playoffs.
