It was a tough blow for Astralis to miss out on the IEM Rio Major 2022, the first such instance for the side since having entered competitive CS:GO in 2016. The Danish organization is not taking this setback lightly and is ready to make some changes for getting things back on track.
Astralis has already benched its main CS:GO team's coach, Martin "trace" Heldt, and promoted Peter "casle" Ardenskjold from Astralis Talent as the interim coach, further stating that "more measures are to be introduced over the coming time."
This was followed by a report from Jaxon claiming that Astralis is looking to trade its current sniper, Asger "farlig" Jensen, for the up-and-coming young talented rifler, Victor "Staehr" Staehr.
Report: Astralis looking to trade Farlig for an upcoming young Danish CS:GO player
In a public statement, Anders Hørsholt - CEO of Astralis, expressed that the team had clearly not lived up to its own expectations when it comes to CS:GO and more measures will be implemented to ensure things improve.
"In the coming weeks and months, we will work on modernizing and developing the organization around the CS:GO team, where our Director of Sports will be looking at all current and potentially new roles and needed upgrades on and around the team," said Hørsholt.
This was followed by a report claiming that farlig could be on his way out of the team, with Astralis showing an interest in signing Staehr over from his current team Sprout.
The organization seems to have allegedly made an inquiry regarding the 18-year-old rifler from Denmark and is aiming to sign him via a potential trade deal.
Astralis' interest towards the rifler was sparked following Sprout's surprising '3-1' run at the European RMR A, which has granted the team a Legend Status for the upcoming IEM Rio Major 2022.
Astralis will surely have to wait until the Major has concluded to approach the player and make him an offer. Until then the organization can continue to keep an eye out for him and monitor his performance at the main event.
Speculations about this trade, seem to be in line with Astralis reportedly negotiating with Ninjas In Pyjamas to sign Nicolai "device" Reedtz and potentially bring him back home. If everything turns out to be true, device could be the right replacement for farlig while Staehr could step into the boots of k0nfig.
