How to Fix Valorant Error Code VAN 152

Riot Games’ free-to-play first-person hero shooter Valorant has been a massive hit among players ever since its release in 2020. However, over these two years, players have faced an array of errors and bugs, some of which are fixable from the players’ end. It is also not very surprising to see an online multiplayer game have errors and other issues. The latest addition to the game was agent Harbor from India, who can wield powers of water in combat. Valorant regularly brings forth updates and introduces its player base to new agents and map changes, and as a result, different bugs and errors tend to arise.

Countless players have been experiencing this error named Valorant Error Code VAN 152 recently, leading them to believe that they have been banned from the game. However, it does not mean that you’ve been banned, it simply means you have received an HWID ban, which is a Hardware ID ban.

What is Valorant Error Code VAN 152?

Valorant Error Code VAN 152 represents a connection error and stands for an HWID ban. This happens when Riot Games’ Anti-cheat software Vanguard detects any third-party or cheating software and flags your hardware. This is a serious error code but it could be provoked by a bad start of the Riot Games client. If the client perceives that you have been cheating, you will receive a temporary Valorant Error Code VAN 152 message.

If you have been running third-party applications like game booster or VPNs, you may be prone to receiving this error code. This connection error could be due to Vanguard associating these applications with malicious software and eventually banning your system with an HWID ban and a Valorant Error Code VAN 152.

Fixing Error Code VAN 152

Restart Riot Client

The first and foolproof fix that you can do is restart the Riot Client. As mentioned before, if the client has not opened up properly, it could lead to an Error Code VAN 152. To restart the Riot Client, open Task Manager and select the Processes tab and locate the Riot Client. Once you find it, right-click it and End task to shut it down. You can restart the client and the game after this. Additionally, you can also restart your PC. However, if this does not solve the issue, the HWID connection error is a serious one.

Reaching out to Riot support

The second-best option you have in your hands is to reach out to Riot Games through its support page. You can submit a ticket to the publisher and it will review the ticket as soon as possible, and if luck favors you, you will be playing Valorant very soon.

Check for VPN and game boosters

Using VPNs or game boosters such as Razer Cortex can land you in trouble. You should check if you’ve had any of these applications running while playing Valorant and if that’s the case, you should get in touch with Riot Support and state your claim, explaining that you have not been cheating.

In addition to these above steps, players can also troubleshoot the client/Valorant and try reinstalling Vanguard to get rid of the Valorant Error Code VAN 152. But with so many players facing this unfortunate problem, Riot Games will most likely roll out an update to fix the error code and patch it on its end.
