S8UL Sid recently tweeted that S8UL is looking into Valorant Esports, and in a livestream, he said it might get into Valorant Esports. However, it appears like many have misunderstood the tweet. In a recent livestream, Siddhant “Sid” Joshi clarified the full meaning behind his tweet, why S8UL hasn't acquired a Valorant line-up just yet, and what kind of line-up it is looking for.
Sid says his tweet did not mean S8UL is entering Valorant Esports
Since Sid’s previous Tweet regarding S8UL’s Valorant roster, there has been a lot of speculation about about S8UL's prospects in Valorant Esports. Addressing this situation, Sid clarified that his tweet did not mean that S8UL was entering Valorant esports but that the organization had been trying to enter the scene for a long time, and it will enter once it finds the right roster.
Sid said, “People have taken my recent tweet about the Valorant roster the wrong way. The tweet did not say that we are entering the Valorant esports. It actually meant that we have been trying to enter for a long time.”
Following this, he said the tweet responded to a person who asked him why S8UL does not have a Valorant roster. Further, he mentioned that Thug and Goldy are interested in getting a roster and have been trying to get in for the past six to nine months, but they did not find any worthy line-up.
Sid said, “It was a reply to a person who wrote a long tweet asking why S8UL does not acquire any Valorant line-up.” He added, “It was an explanation from me to all the people that Thug and Goldy have been interested in entering Valorant for a long time. It’s not that they are not interested. They have been trying for the last six to nine months. It’s just that we are not finding players or line-ups good enough to enter S8UL.”
Sid explains the kind of Valorant line-up S8UL is looking for
Sid stated that S8UL does not want to build a new roster from scratch; instead, it is looking for a stable roster already performing well.
Sid stated, “We don’t want to build an entire line-up. We genuinely don’t want to build a line-up by hiring five different players. We want a lineup that may not win instantly but is a stable line-up and should be in the top three or top four in the country.”
Following this, he said that it doesn’t matter if the roster wins or loses, but it at least need to get a good rank. He also mentioned that the organization does not want to acquire a roster in its building phase.
Sid said, “They win, or they lose, no problem, we’ll see about that, but at least they need to get podium finishes, like second or third and sometimes even first.” He added, “I want such a line-up, and we don’t want to enter a line-up-building phase.”
