The second round-robin of the Group Stage of Worlds 2022 started in high gear with the most anticipated Group A kicking things off in style. While the day began with a threeway tie between Fnatic (FNC), T1, and EDward Gaming (EDG) stuck in a 2-1 scoreline, things fell into place quickly. T1 made it out of Group A as the first seed followed by EDG in second, eliminating Fnatic and Cloud9. T1 secured its knockout ticket in style while celebrating Ryu "Keria" Min-seok’s birthday and Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok’s new record at Worlds. Faker now has the most collective kills in Worlds history.
Faker surpasses Uzi’s kill record at Worlds
In the matchup against Fnatic on 13th October at Worlds 2022, T1’s star player Faker set a new record for the most collective kills in Worlds history after he surpassed former attack damage carry (ADC) player Jian "Uzi" Zi-Hao’s record of 350 kills. Faker crossed the 350 kill-mark after he put up a dominant showing against the European squad of Fnatic in the group stage. Notably, Faker ended up with a KDA of 6/3/1.

Uzi’s record stood the tallest for the longest time and impressed every League of Legends fans since it has been over four years since the ADC player attended Worlds.
Faker has been a pivotal factor in T1’s (formerly called SK Telecom T1) success on the international stage. He was dubbed the greatest player by fans and analysts alike the first time he showed up at Worlds in 2013. He has attended Worlds year after year, only having missed the championship battle in 2014 and 2018.
Faker also went from being the sole carry of the team to stepping back and letting the rookies take charge this year around. Oftentimes, Faker absorbs the pressure to help his ADC Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong and top laner Choi "Zeus" Woo-je take on the carry role. Despite this shift in playstyle, he has been one of the most consistent players in the world, who also has a deep champion pool.
In this particular matchup against Fnatic, Faker was on the Sylas pick and was heavily focused throughout the game, but still managed to outshine his lane opponent Marek "Humanoid" Brázda who had the upper hand in the early stages of the game.
Notably, on 9th October, on Day 3 of Worlds 2022, Faker played his 100th World Championship match and closed it with a win. The star player now has a win-loss record percentage of over 72%.
